Mounds View EDA April 22, 2024 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Beeman requested the EDA adopt a Resolution approving an <br />agreement with the Center for Energy and Environment to Perform Home Energy Squad visits in <br />the City of Mounds View. He explained the loan program has been separated from the home energy <br />squad and the EDA was being asked to approve an agreement with the Center for Energy and <br />Environment for the home energy squad visits. <br /> <br />Gerardo Roca, Outreach Specialist for the Center for Energy and Environment, provided the EDA <br />with a presentation on the work conducted by the home energy squad which was a program <br />provided by Xcel Energy and Center Point Energy since 2010. He explained this program was <br />under the ECO act that helps utilities meet their annual efficiency savings goals. He reviewed the <br />types of visits that were available for homeowners and renters and described the services that were <br />provided. He reported the home energy squad has had a partnership with Mounds View since 2018 <br />and has conducted 95 home visits. He commented further on the improvement loans that were <br />available to residents and commercial properties to assist with energy improvements. <br /> <br />President Meehlhause thanked Mr. Roca for his presentation. He commented on how much he <br />appreciated his home energy squad visit. <br /> <br />Vice President Lindstrom asked if residents were charged to have their light bulbs and thermostat <br />replaced. Mr. Roca explained residents were charged a fee ($150) for the thermostat replacement, <br />but light bulbs were replaced for free. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Lindstrom/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 24-EDA- <br />373, a Resolution Approving an Agreement between the City of Mounds View Economic <br />Development Authority and the Center for Energy and Environment to Perform Home Energy <br />Squad visits in the City of Mounds View. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />7. REPORTS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />8. NEXT EDA MEETING: Monday, May 13, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />9.
