The system was first constructed in the 1970's <br /> and as with other similar core functions, research, innovation and best management <br /> practices have changed over the years. <br /> Ardan Park Storm Water Pond Overview <br /> Provided by Dan Edgerton, Stantec Engineering Services <br /> • Public engagement—two public meetings <br /> o Meeting #1 held onsite on 9/28/2023 <br /> o Additional presentation at 4/25/2024 Parks Commission meeting <br /> o Meeting #2 to be held on 9/9/2024 <br /> • Data collection <br /> o Field survey completed <br /> o Upland vegetation assessment completed <br /> o Sediment coring to determine disposal methods completed <br /> • Permits <br /> o Wetland delineation completed previously <br /> o Wetland permit received. No mitigation needed because they are incidental <br /> wetlands. <br /> • Upland vegetation evaluation and recommendations completed and reviewed by Don <br /> Peterson <br /> o City Arborist has inventoried some trees around the ponds, documented high-value <br /> trees <br /> • Upland vegetation management plan completed and reviewed by Don Peterson <br /> o Covers both restoration and maintenance, including areas adjacent to the area <br /> impacted by dredging <br /> • Design and construction <br /> 0 95% plans, SWPPP, specifications, and Engineer's estimate completed and <br /> reviewed by Don Peterson <br /> ■ Work includes dredging of ponds, removal of invasive or other <br /> undesirable/nonnative vegetation around pond, and restoration largely with <br /> native vegetation along with some turfgrass <br /> ■ Ag lime trail included as alternate, with mowing strip on either side <br /> o Following final City review this will be updated as necessary <br /> The Mounds View Visior. <br /> A Thriving Desirable Comintwity <br />
