RESOLUTION 9988 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE CONTRACT WITH UPPER CUT TREE SERVICE FOR TREE REMOVAL OF ACCESSIBLE AND NON-ACCESSIBLE TREES. WHEREAS, proposals are received to perform tree removal and tree trimming services to be done as part of the Diseased Tree Ordinance; and WHEREAS, these services are budgeted in 100-4380-3520; and WHEREAS, there were three companies that submitted tree removal quotes for private front and backyard trees to include City owned properties; and WHEREAS, the low quote was submitted by Upper Cut Tree Service for front and back yard trees based on the annual proposed cost; and WHEREAS, tree stumps will not be removed but instead left at 3 inches or below except for City owned properties due to the ROW Ordinance and the hazard it creates by leaving it in place; and OR WHEREAS, the low quote was submitted by Upper Cut Tree Service for stump removal including black dirt and seed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. That a 3-year contract for diseased/hazardous tree removals as per Code 153 is hereby awarded to Upper Cut Tree Service for both front and back trees based on the annual proposed amount. 2. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Upper Cut Tree Service to perform tree removals for the City of Mounds View. Said contracts shall expire on December 31, 2027. 3. The Mayor and City Administrator, staff and consultants are hereby authorized and directed to take all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this resolution.
