RESOLUTION NO. 9993 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />ELECTING TO RETAIN THE STATUTORY TORT LIMIT ON LIABILITY FOR <br />THE 2025 INSURANCE POLICIES <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View is currently making application for insurance <br />policies to cover the period of January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025; and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 466.04 requires that the City Council elect to not <br />waive the monetary limits on municipal tort liability prior to the effective date of the coverage; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the established tort limits protect the City of Mounds View in state <br />courts, waiving the statutory tort limit on liability claims is not in the best interest of the City <br />of Mounds View. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View that the statutory tort limit on municipal tort liability is not waived. <br />Adopted this 15th day of October 2024. <br />Gary N e�ehl ause, Acting Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />4'1� I <br />I <br />Nyle kmun ,City Administrator <br />(SEAL) <br />
