Mounds View City Council October 15, 2024 <br /> Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 Council Member Clark indicated the next Festival in the Park meeting would be held on Tuesday, <br /> 3 October 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Public Works Facility. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Council Member Gunn stated she attended the recent candidate forums. She commented on the <br /> 6 candidate forums that would be held on Sunday,October 20 at Caribou Coffee and Dos Hermanos. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Council Member Gunn indicated she would be attending a Tribute Park meeting on Wednesday, <br /> 9 October 16 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Council Member Gunn reported she would be attending a Cable Commission meeting on <br /> 12 Thursday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Acting Mayor Meehlhause stated the Lions were not able to attend the community bonfire noting <br /> 15 they were holding their monthly meeting at that time. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Acting Mayor Meehlhause explained he would be attending an NYFS Finance Committee meeting <br /> 18 on Wednesday, October 16 along with an NYFS Governance meeting next week. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Council Member Cermak reported she met the City's new stormwater intern at the Ramsey County <br /> 21 Library. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 B. Reports of Staff. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 City Administrator Zikmund stated the Town Hall and State of the City Address meeting would <br /> 26 be held on Monday, October 21. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 City Administrator Zikmund reported the Candidate Forum that was held last week would be <br /> 29 posted to the City's website for viewing. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 City Administrator Zikmund addressed several questions he has received regarding organized trash <br /> 32 collection noting State Statute requires the initial contract to be for seven years. He reported prices <br /> 33 could increase after the first year, but the increase would be capped at 3.5%. He explained all <br /> 34 customer lists would remain private data and stated all billing would be completed by the hauler. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 City Administrator Zikmund reported the Bear Lot has a new owner. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Police Chief Zender explained he has been attending virtual meetings in preparation for the <br /> 39 upcoming election. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Police Chief Zender commented on the Faith in Blue event that was held at Cross of Glory Church. <br /> 42 He stated this was a great community event that allowed him to let the congregation know what <br /> 43 was going on with the Mounds View Police Department. He stated he would be willing to hold <br /> 44 this event at additional churches next year. <br /> 45 <br />
