Mounds View City Council October 15, 2024 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br />Council Member Clark asked about the field rate changed to an hourly basis. City Administrator <br />Zikmund explained he would follow up with Superintendent Thomas on this matter. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Clark. To Waive the First Reading and Introduce Ordinance 1019, <br />an Ordinance Adopting the 2025 City of Mounds View Fee Schedule. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />D. Community Engagement Commission - Council Liaison. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund explained the Council has been working to create a Community <br />Engagement Commission. He stated this group would be holding its first meeting on Wednesday, <br />October 16 at 6:00 p.m. He reported Mayor Lindstrom would be interested in serving as the <br />Council liaison to this group. He requested the Council make a motion for this appointment. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Cermak. To appoint Mayor Zach Lindstrom as the Council Liaison <br />for the Community Engagement Commission. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark stated she would be interested in being a part of this group as well. City <br />Administrator Zikmund indicated any member of the City Council could attend these meetings. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />9. REPORTS <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Cermak commented on the Faith in Blue service that was held at Cross of Glory <br />Church. She stated this was a great way for her to meet Pastor Cassie and individuals from this <br />congregation. She indicated a bake sale was held on Sunday and over $600 was raised for the <br />Mounds View Police Foundation. She asked that the Police Chief visit more than one church next <br />year for the Faith in Blue event. <br /> <br />Council Member Cermak stated last Thursday, she went to the history theater to see the play on <br />racial covenants. She indicated this play was very well done. <br /> <br />Council Member Cermak commented on the candidate forum that was held on Wednesday, <br />October 9. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark reported she attended the community bonfire on October 3 at the <br />Community Center. She stated this was a great community event and there was a great turnout. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark explained the Park and Recreation Department was hosting a fall festival <br />on Thursday, October 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. noting there would be a trick or treat street <br />inside along with a trunk or treat outside. <br />
