Mounds View City Council December 9, 2024 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br />1 6. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br />2 A. Resolution 10025, Appreciation to Dennis (Denny) Erickson for his Dedicated <br />3 Service on the Mounds View Charter Commission. <br />4 <br />5 Mayor Pro Tem Cermak read a Resolution of Appreciation for Denny Erickson and thanked him <br />6 for his dedicated service to the City of Mounds View on the Charter Commission. She explained <br />7 she had been friends with Denny for many years and she greatly appreciated his friendship and <br />8 service to the City. <br />9 <br />10 Council Member Meehlhause indicated he has had the privilege of knowing Denny while serving <br />11 as an elected official. He appreciated earning Denny's respect over the years and understood <br />12 Denny cares very deeply for this community. He thanked Denny for all of his contributions to the <br />13 Mounds View Lions over the years and thanked Mr. Erickson for his years of service on the Charter <br />14 Commission. <br />15 <br />16 Council Member Gunn stated she would miss seeing Mr. Erickson at the City Council meetings <br />17 and wished him all the best in the future. <br />18 <br />19 Council Member Clark thanked Denny for his years of service to the City. <br />20 <br />21 Mayor Lindstrom indicated he spoke with Denny on Saturday and stated his spirits are good. He <br />22 stated Denny cares a great deal about this City and he was talking about the Lions garage sale. He <br />23 wished Denny all the best in the future and thanked him for his commitment and service to the <br />24 City. <br />25 <br />26 MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Clark. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 10025, <br />27 Appreciation to Dennis (Denny) Erickson for his Dedicated Service on the Mounds View Charter <br />28 Commission. <br />29 <br />30 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />31 <br />32 7. PUBLIC COMMENT <br />33 <br />34 Mayor Pro Tem Cermak encouraged the public to speak with kindness and respect when <br />35 addressing the City Council during Public Comment. <br />36 <br />37 Vince Meyer 8380 Spring Lake Road, noted the manhole cover on his street was not fixed yet. He <br />38 asked that the City address this concern. <br />39 <br />4o 8. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />41 A. Resolution 10019, Approving Appointments to the Mounds View Planning and <br />42 Zoning Commission and Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission. <br />43 <br />44 City Administrator Zikmund requested the Council approve appointments to the Mounds View <br />45 Planning and Zoning Commission and Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission. He explained <br />46 the Council would be discussing the future of the EDC at the January workshop meeting. He <br />
