SF-00006-02 <br />C7 <br />DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES <br />TO <br />THRU <br />FROM <br />SUBJECT: <br />File 80-6258 <br />Kent Lokkesm , Regional Hydrologist <br />4Boudreau, Hydrologist <br />0Met o Region Waters <br />FIELD INSPECT DN <br />STATE OF R iUESOTA <br />Office" Memorandum <br />DATE: April 29, 1982 <br />PHONE: <br />I visited the construction site on April 21, 1982 with Jerry <br />Sunde, Fred Haas (Mary Anderson Homes), and Bruce Anderson <br />(City of Mounds View Parks). <br />Most of the excavation has been completed per the revised plans, <br />so no work was done in the floating bog area, nor was any of <br />the willow area excavated on the southwest corner of the basin. <br />The only work remaining is the neck between the main basin and <br />the northwest corner. <br />All of the property immediately surrounding the basin is dedicated <br />to the city. They will allow that property to re-establish itself <br />in natural vegetation. It has been seeded and mulched at the <br />southwest end of the basin. The remainder of the seeding still <br />must be done. <br />The City of Mounds View will be installing the outlet structure <br />as per Sunde`s palns. <br />My only concern is the water depth where cattail are supposed <br />to re-establish ---- two feet. Jerry and Bruce are confident that <br />a fringe area will re-establish itself. <br />ch <br />E <br />
