Pond will reduce downstream <br />discharge rates during major runoff events. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL 114PACf <br />1. Anticipated changes in water and related land resources: <br />Pond size will increase as snown on attached plans.. An outlet structure <br />will limit rates of discharge from the site and drainage area. <br />2. Unavoidable but anticipated detrimental effects: <br />There will be modification of present wetlands vegetation. Also, there <br />will be an increase in pond size and some decrease in upland habitat area. <br />3, Alternatives to the action Oroposed: <br />No action. Will result in continuation of severe flooding iit downstream <br />areas or will greatly restrict development in the tributary drainage <br />area due to the need to limit peak discharges. <br />PROJECT SITE DATA <br />1. Describe the type and amount of aquatic vegetation present: <br />See the attached report by Dr. .lames A. Jones. <br />2. describe the nature of the material beneath the water: <br />Peat and organic soils. Sands in upland areas. <br />3. Describe the nature of the upland area: <br />Relatively level to rolling grassland with groves of mature trees (oaks). <br />Apartment development to the south. <br />4. Describe type and amount of nearby shorelind development: <br />Apartment development along south marsh boundary. <br />S.
