RESOLUTION NO.9441 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO SHERRY GUNN FOR HER <br />DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />WHEREAS, Sherry Gunn was first elected to the City Council in 1998 and served one year; and <br />WHEREAS, she was again elected as council member in 2008 with her term starting in 2009 <br />and served on the Mounds View City Council through 2020 for an impressive 17 years as the longest <br />serving female council member in Mounds View history and third longest serving overall; and <br />WHEREAS, she has served on the City Council with passion, caring, and with sincere interest <br />of always putting the community first while gaining the respect and gratitude of those who have had the <br />privilege of working with her; and <br />WHEREAS, she has served the City of Mounds View not only on the City Council but also <br />many years on the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission, the Planning Commission, the Festival <br />in the Park Committee where she has served as both President and Treasurer, the Police Foundation <br />where she is the current President and the Lions Club where she has served as President, and <br />WHEREAS, she has consistently shown her genuine appreciation to Mounds View City Staff by <br />thoughtfully providing food and homemade baked goods at employee functions and events; and <br />WHEREAS; her passion for community engagement became unmistakable after nearly a <br />decade of advocacy for the "Splashdown" splash pad which was celebrated with the grand opening <br />August 1, 2019; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br />on behalf of Staff and the Community, expresses its heartfelt appreciation to Sherry Gunn for her many <br />years of exemplary and dedicated service to the City of Mounds View. <br />Adopted this 12' day of July, 2021. <br />Mayor Carol A.
