Mounds View City Council June 26, 1989 <br />Regular Meeting Page Fifteen <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />Councilmember Paone had no report. Councilmember <br />Paone <br />Councilmember Quick asked for an update on the infor- <br />mation he had previously requested concerning the <br />appointment of the newest Charter Commission member. <br />Attorney Karney replied he believed it had been <br />received by his office. and he would forward it. <br />Councilmember Blanchard asked when the next recy- <br />cling day is, since the normally scheduled day <br />falls on the 4th of July holiday. <br />Ms. Hren replied it has been changed to July 5, <br />and notices have been sent to the papers, put on <br />the board outside City Hall, in the newsletter and <br />so forth. <br />Mayor Hankner reported she had met last week with <br />the mayors of Shoreview, Arden Hills and New <br />Brighton to discuss a number of items, including <br />waste management, school-district issues, the <br />purchase of property from the Army, and coordi- <br />nation between the Park and Rec programs. She <br />• added they are considering setting up a softball <br />day as a method of getting everyone together. <br />Mayor Hankner reported the Light Rail Transit <br />Committee would be meeting at 4 PM on June 27, <br />but she was not sure if she'd be able to attend. <br />Paul Mielke volunteered to attend in her glace. <br />Mayor Hankner reported the Reliever Airport Study <br />Advisory Group would be meeting on June 28 at 9 AM. <br />City Planner Hren will attend the meeting. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley asked that a hearing be <br />set on the 1989 long term financial plan for <br />July 10. <br />Motion/Second: Quick/Blanchard to set a public <br />hearing for 7:05 PM on Monday, July 10 for the <br />long term financial plan. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reported on confusion <br />that exists statewide concerning the application <br />of truth in taxation with local governments.
