Spring Lake Park <br />Road and Knollwood Drive are not planned for re- <br />construction at that time. <br />Jim Meyer, of Blaine,. asked how many houses would be <br />taken for'the project. He added he had read 15 would <br />taken in Coon Rapids. <br />Mr. Robinson replied he believes one will be taken in <br />Blaine,, and about a dozen hangers at the airport. <br />Paul Milke asked what will happen to County Road J. <br />Mr. Robinson stated he understood it would be turned <br />over to the City. He noted,, also,. that the center <br />line of the road is the boundary between Mounds View <br />and Blaine. <br />Mr. Nelson stated he believed traffic would get off <br />the highway and go through the residential areas,, <br />especially if the freeway is backed up. ' <br />Mayor Hankner stated the City could talk to the <br />• Legislature about changing the moratorium on noise <br />abatement. She added laws can be changed,. but it <br />takes a lot of work. She stated her primary concerns <br />are noise abatement and traffic. <br />Mr. Benson explained the interchange at Highway 65 <br />has too much traffic already,, which is why the airport <br />interchange is needed. <br />Mr. Robinson stated the weight limitations on County <br />Road J would be a ten ton design,. and he believes the <br />speed limit would be 35-40 MPH. ' <br />Mayor Hankner noted the lights on old Highway 10 are <br />timed that residents,. specifically at Long Lake Road, <br />cannot get across,. and asked if that timing could be' <br />changed. The City would prefer a walk-over there, <br />but has been turned down. <br />Mr. Robinson explained as signals are being rehabili- <br />tated, they are adding pedestrian signals and ramps. <br />Mr. Minetor advised that was done recently,, and he <br />has been told the timing problem is still being looked <br />at. <br />Mr. Henzela stated he is a concerned parent,, as his <br />children will cross the highway to go to the new <br />library and he questioned why a bridge couldn't be <br />built.
