Mounds View City Council Page Five �egular Meeting June 28, 1993 The second letter received by Mr. Harrington was from Ms. Gail Whetherhult, 2751 Hodges Lane. The letter reads as follows: June 23, 1993 City Planner City of Mounds View 2401 Highway 10 Mounds View, MN 55112 Dear Sir: This is in response to the Notice of Public Hearing meeting scheduled for June 28, 1993 with regard to Lot 4, Block 6 Silver Lake Woods construction of an oversized building. I am opposed to allowing a building permit variance to construct an oversized accessory building at 7312 Park View Drive. Allowance of such a structure invites commercial activities in our zoned residential neighborhood. It also sets a precedent for other homeowners in the area to build similar structures which would very quickly deteriorate the family atmosphere that is currently there and devaluate the homes in the area. One of the reasons we built our home in this area was because there were regulations on the types of housing being built so that �ur home would retain its value. We also liked the quiet residential treets so our children can ride their bikes and not be concerned about commercial vehicles entering the area. Allowing structures such as the one currently proposed will change that. Therefore, I vote no to the construction permit requested. Sincerely, (signed by Gail Whetherhult) ' 2751 Hodges Lane Mounds View, MN 55112 The third letter received by Paul Harrington, City Planner was from David Petri, 2750 Hodges Lane, and its contents are as follows: Mounds View Town Board Meeting Monday June 28th 1993 Re: Enlarged garage To Whom It May Concern: I live at 2750 Hodges Lane, if this building is allowed to be put up it will cover all windows on the southern part of my home. It will leave us with a view of just 1 window on the easterly side of my home. I have been told by appraisers that view accounts for approximately 5% to 6% of your properties value. •
