Report of Councilmembers <br />Councilmember Wuori - No report. <br />Councilmember Quick - No report. <br />Councilmember Blanchard - The Local Government Committee <br />heard and approved a measure that allows local governments the <br />option of not complying with a state mandate if the state does <br />does not provide sufficient funding. The bill, authored <br />by Sen. Jim Vickerman (DFL-Tracy), places a sunset of <br />five years on all mandates imposing an accumulative, <br />• non-funded fiscal impact of more than $50,000 per year <br />to all local units of government, unless explicitly <br />reenacted by law. The bill was referred to the <br />Governmental Operations Committee. <br />Residents should contact their legislators and ask <br />them to follow up on this bill and vote for its <br />passage. <br />3. Report of Mayor: <br />o Mayor Linke announced that there are two openings <br />on the Planning and Zoning Committee and invited <br />anyone interested to stop in and fill out an <br />application or to contact a councilmember for <br />more information regarding the committee. <br />o Environmental Quality Task Force also has some <br />openings. Mayor Linke also invited interested <br />persons to stop into City Hall, call City Hall <br />or call a councilmember for more information. <br />o Joint Meeting of .the Ramsey County Cities Re: <br />Continued Discussion of Municipal Cooperative <br />Efforts - 8:00 a.m. to NOON, April 27th, 1991 <br />• o May 10 and 11 Goal Setting Session to Plan <br />Strategies for the Coming Years <br />
