ounds View City Council Page Eleven <br />~gular Meeting February 24, 1992 <br />Mr. Price stated that Saturn customers would be explained where to test <br />drive the vehicles and 80-90 percent of the time an employee of Saturn would <br />be with the person test driving the car. The drivers would be instructed to <br />stay away from the residential area. <br />Councilmember Wuori also suggested that a #10 be added that addressed the <br />outside advertisement such as no pennants or painted windows. <br />Mr. Price asked about a sign permit for special occasions such as a grand <br />opening. <br />Paul Harrington, City Planner, explained the sign permit process to Mr. <br />Price. <br />Councilmember Quick stated that Saturn would have no flags, calliopes or <br />organ playing. <br />Mr. Price guaranteed him there wouldn't be. <br />Mayor Linke was concerned. about the amount of used cars in comparison to new <br />cars would be on the lot. Discussion evolved around parking availability. <br />~uncilmember Wuori agreed with Mayor Linke that the lighting levels could <br />reviewed at 6 months and one year. <br />Councilmember Wuori asked how many employees were on one shift. <br />Councilmember Quick made a motion that this item be tabled. Mayor Linke <br />called for a second to the motion. Motion failed for lack of a second. <br />Mr. Price, Saturn, explained that because this is a Saturn dealership and <br />only offers two types of cars that at any time he could move the cars from <br />this lot to his other lot when needed, i.e., a special occasion. <br />Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, confirmed with Mr. Price that his <br />primary sales intent was that of selling new cars not used cars. <br />Mayor Linke reviewed the items to be changed on the resolution and its <br />approval would be contingent upon those items being added. Item number eight - <br />would read "All transport .truck deliveries and pick-ups shall be conducted <br />during regular business hours." Item #9 would read "The conditional use <br />permit shall be reviewed at six months and each year thereafter at the time <br />of licensing to ensure that applicable conditoins imposed on the site are <br />being met." An added #10 would read, "Outside avertising shall be lmited to <br />that allowed by Municipal Code." An added #11 would read, "Provide adequate <br />on site parking for number of customers expected. For special occasions a <br />larger number of customer parking spaces should be made free." <br />• <br />
