Ric Minetor, Director of Public <br />Mike Ulrich, Public Works Forem; <br />peak control electric rates for <br />the Council that there would be <br />City, approximately $17,132, by <br />Control Rate program. <br />Page Eight <br />June 22, 1992 <br />Works/City Engineer, introduced <br />~n, to review the item regarding <br />wells. Ulrich pointed out to <br />a substantial savings to the <br />participating in NSP's Peak <br />Councilmember Rickaby asked what the City would do if there <br />were a major fire during the time that the City was not <br />operating these wells at the time. <br />Minetor stated that the City would receive a penalty for <br />using the wells at a peak time. The penalty would probably <br />equal the savings that the City would receive for the year. <br />Minetor stated that the first approach the City would take <br />would probably be to contact people using outdoor water and have it <br />turned off. <br />Ulrich further indicated that within five years using this <br />program the City could have the emergency generator paid off. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Rickaby/Blanchard to approve Peak Control <br />. Rates for all of the City's pumping stations and authorize <br />staff to sign contracts on behalf of the City. <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Mayor Linke commended Mike Ulrich, Public Works Foreman, for <br />doing a fine job done on this project. <br />3. Tim Cruikshank, Management Assistant, reviewed Ordinance No. <br />510 Amending Section 6.05 of the Mounds View Municipal Code <br />entitled, "Personnel". The amendment to this section would authorize <br />the City Administrator to appoint all seasonal and temporary employees <br />employed by the City without Council approval.
