Mayor Linke introduced and read Resolution No. 4283 Commending <br />Jeff Norman for Conducting a Bicycle Rodeo for the Children of the <br />Community <br />MOTION/SECOND: Linke/Quick to adopt Resolution No. 4283 <br />Commending Jeff Norman for Conducting a Bicycle Rodeo for the <br />Children of the Community <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />iMayor Linke thanked Tony and Jeff on behalf of the City of Mounds View for <br />he work put into these projects and presented them with resolutions of <br />commendation. <br />RESIDENTS REQUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR: <br />Lyle Johnston, 7640 Woodlawn Drive, owner/occupant of a duplex which has <br />single stall garages and driveways for both units, addressed the Council <br />regarding the waiver of a fee for a variance needed to widen his driveway <br />due to the recently passed no on-street parking law in the City. <br />Mr. Johnston stated that he has two cars and in order to keep one in the <br />garage and one in the driveway and off the street he needs to widen the <br />existing driveway. Mr. Johnston stated that he did not feel that he should <br />be required to pay the fee for the variance because he was only trying to <br />provide himself and his tenant parking in light of the on-street parking <br />restrictions adopted by the City Council. <br />Following Council discussion it was decided that Paul Harrington, City <br />Planner, would gather information on the breakdown of the fees for a <br />variance and present that information to the City Council at their <br />October 5 Work Session. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />No public hearings had been scheduled. <br />
