To Approve the January 3, 2011, Special City Council <br /> meeting minutes as corrected. <br /> Ayes—5 Nays—0 Motion carried. <br /> 11. REPORTS <br /> A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> Mayor Flaherty indicated the nation was truly grieving from the situation in Tucson,Arizona. He <br /> indicated his thoughts and prayers went out to the families that lost loved ones this past weekend. <br /> Mayor Flaherty explained on Thursday, January 27, 2011, the Ramsey County League of Local <br /> Governments was having a Conversation with Ramsey County Legislatures. The meeting would <br /> be held at 145 University Avenue West in St. Paul, MN at 6:30 p.m. All were encouraged to <br /> attend. <br /> Council Member Gunn stated she was invited to attend a meeting on Thursday with the School <br /> District for the District and Community Enhancement Meeting. She would report back to the <br /> • Council at a future meeting. <br /> Council Member Mueller noted Saturday, January 29, 2011, St. John the Baptist Church would <br /> be hosting its Annual Wine to Wishes fundraiser. More information could be found online and <br /> proceeds would benefit school programs. <br /> Council Member Mueller indicated long time resident Dick Keller passed away over the <br /> weekend. She requested the City keep this family in their thoughts and prayers. <br /> Council Member Mueller stated the Festival in the Park Committee was looking for volunteers as <br /> key positions on the Board were still open. She noted there were also short term volunteer <br /> opportunities available and encouraged those interested to contact the City for further <br /> information. <br /> Council Member Mueller explained there would be an upcoming seminar with the League of <br /> Minnesota Cities that she would be attending in early-February. <br /> Council Member Hull indicated he was contacted by a resident this evening requesting the City <br /> contract driveway snowplowing services for elderly residents. He questioned if this was feasible <br /> or something the City could look into. Public Works Director DeBar indicated the City had <br /> enough work keeping the City streets cleared and did not want to create a conflict of interest. <br /> However, staff would look into this further. <br /> • <br />
