Public Works <br /> Director DeBar was uncertain of the value. He indicated the old tires would be taken away and <br /> not stored on site. <br /> Mayor Flaherty stated this was a safety factor for the Public Works Department employees. He <br /> appreciated that the Public Works Department had a surplus from the vehicle purchase to cover <br /> this expense. <br /> Council Member Stigney questioned if these tires were ever retreaded. Public Works Director <br /> DeBar was not aware that this was possible and felt long term this could present problems. He <br /> stated he would check into this further. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7766, <br /> Approving the Purchase of a Set of Wheel Loader Tires from GCR Tire Center. <br /> Council Member Stigney commented the new tires were not guaranteed to handle better than the <br /> current tires. He felt the purchase could be deferred until there was a real need. <br /> Council Member Mueller indicated because of the price increase expected it would benefit the <br /> City to purchase the tires at this time. <br /> • Ayes—4 Nays— 1 (Stigney) Motion carried. <br /> 8. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> Council Member Mueller asked to remove Item A. <br /> B. Set a Public Hearing for 7:05 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2011, a Resolution <br /> to Approve a Temporary On-Sale 3.2 Malt Liquor License for the Blaine <br /> Jaycees to Serve Liquor during the Mounds View Festival in the Park on <br /> August 20,2011. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Mueller. To Approve Consent Agenda Item 8B. <br /> Ayes—5 Nays—0 Motion carried. <br /> A. Resolution 7762, Authorizing Insurance Policies for the year January 2Q]I <br /> through December 2011. <br /> Council Member Mueller requested Finance Director Beer review the third paragraph in his staff <br /> report with the Council for the record. Finance Director Beer indicated the property and liability <br /> policy reduced by $24. In addition, the worker's compensation premium decreased by over <br /> • $11,000. This was a result of a lower experience modifer with rates reducing as well. <br />
