MEETING IS CALLED TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> 3. ROLL CALL: Flaherty, Stigney, Hull,Mueller, Gunn. <br /> NOT PRESENT: None. <br /> 4. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> A. Monday,September 12,2011,City Council Agenda. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Approve the Monday, September 12, 2011, agenda as <br /> presented. <br /> Ayes—5 Nays—0 Motion carried. <br /> 5. PUBLIC INPUT <br /> John Kroeger, 8280 Pleasant View Drive, spoke to the Council regarding a K9 unit within the <br /> City of Mounds View. He understood that a grant was available from the City of St. Paul to <br /> assist with the expense and suggested the Council move forward with the K9 unit as this would <br /> be valuable asset to the Police Department and the community. <br /> Mayor Flaherty indicated the grant would cover one third of the K9 expense. The community <br /> would have to come together to assist with fundraising the additional expense. He felt the K9 <br /> unit would greatly benefit the community. The Council has not taken any action on the item to <br /> date and would continue to pursue additional funding. <br /> dolice Chief Kinney states' C oinl.1. _, isles haJ--; _`.idl fundraisers to assist with the <br /> expense of a K9 unit. He indicated he would assist with coordinating this task if someone from <br /> the community was interested.ill spearheading tip::;` it?ative. <br /> Mayor Flaherty encouraged residents that supported the K9 unit to call City Hall to voice their <br /> support. He recommended this item be added to the September 26th Council agenda. <br /> • <br />
