This was a new design and many departments • <br /> were making a switch to this vehicle. Other alternative vehicles were available, but were more <br /> expensive. He noted the vehicle would be black and white. Staff recommended the purchase of <br /> 2013 police squad car. <br /> Council Member Mueller asked if the Interceptor was a front-wheel drive vehicle. Police Chief <br /> Kinney indicated this was an all-wheel drive vehicle. <br /> Mayor Flaherty understood the need for a new vehicle to continue the same level of police patrol <br /> service for the Mounds View residents. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn. He questioned how the City could take action to <br /> alleviate this situation. Public Works Director DeBar stated citations for littering could be <br /> issued. He indicated this would be the best way to eliminate the nuisance. It was the vendor's • <br /> responsibility to remove and replace their box. <br /> Mayor Flaherty asked if a homeowner could opt out of receiving the Sun Focus. City <br /> Administrator Ericson stated the request could be made, but stated the request may not be • <br /> followed. <br />
