<br /> <br /> C. 2011 Audit Presentation, Aaron Nielsen, CPA, Principal at MMKR Certified Public Accountant <br /> <br />Aaron Nielson, Partner with MMKR, thanked the Council for their time this evening and presented the 2011 audit in detail. He commented the City of Mounds View had received recognition <br /> from the MnGFOA for excellence in financial reporting in 2010. Mr. Nielson discussed the elimination of the levy reduction fund. He summarized the management report further and commented <br /> on the importance of the City monitoring and evaluating the utility rates. He then asked for questions or comments from the Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller questioned how many invoices were sampled throughout the audit. Mr. Nielson stated a sample of 26 invoices was reviewed. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked Mr. Nielson for his presentation this evening and a special thanks to Finance Director Beer and the finance department for their dedicated service to the City. <br /> <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />7:05 p.m. Public Hearing, Resolution 7938, Consider Approval of an On Sale Intoxicating Liquor License for Moe’s located at 2400 County Highway 10. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated in accordance with City Code all liquor licenses were required to have a public hearing. She indicated the public hearing for Moe’s would have <br /> to be continued as the City had not received an application or fees. The application was sent certified mail to the owner of Moe’s and this paperwork was signed for. The fees were <br /> due on May 7th. Staff sent another letter to the owner extending the deadline to May 23rd. She recommended the Council open the public hearing to allow for comment and postpone action <br /> until Tuesday, May 29th. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:22 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Stigney. To Continue the Public Hearing for the On Sale Intoxicating Liquor License for Moe’s located at 2400 County Highway 10 until Tuesday, May 29, 2012. <br /> <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />7:10 p.m. Public Hearing, Resolution 7939, Consider Approval of an On Sale Intoxicating Liquor License for Mermaid Acquisition Group, Inc., (doing business as The Mermaid) located at <br /> 2200 County Highway 10. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated this was a public hearing for The Mermaid’s intoxicating liquor license. Proper notice was sent out by the City to surrounding properties within <br /> 300 feet of The Mermaid and published in the City’s official newspaper. She indicated property taxes were current, along with all City utilities and the Mounds View Police and Fire <br /> Department issued a satisfactory report. The City had not yet received the criminal background
