Step Increase Wage Adjustment for Neil Hiatt, Mounds View Public Works Maintenance. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />Resolution 7989, Approving Baseball Field Improvements at Lambert Park. <br /> <br />Public Works Director DeBar indicated Lambert Park has had a number of improvements in the past year. The remaining improvement was the reconstruction of the baseball field. The original <br /> field and fencing was removed to make room for the shelter. The new ballfield would be configured for t-ball and little league use. Staff solicited quotes from qualified vendors for <br /> new fencing. The low bid was received from Century Fence of Forest Lake for $10,640. In addition to the fencing, a couple of concrete slabs would be needed for player benches, as <br /> well as grading and turf establishment. He estimated this expense to be $5,500. The Park Commission recommended approval of this work at their July meeting and $40,000 was budgeted <br /> for 2012 to cover the expenses. If adopted, the ballfield would be available for use in 2013. <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty questioned if staff had exact numbers on the concrete and grading work. Public Works Director DeBar commented these numbers would be finalized this week. He recommended <br /> the Council approve the presented Resolution with the expense not to exceed $16,140. <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller asked where funds would come from if the expense were to go over the estimated amount. Public Works Director DeBar indicated the additional monies would be taken <br /> from the Park Dedication Fund, only if needed. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7989, Approving Baseball Field Improvements at Lambert Park adding an additional therefore that the expenses will <br /> not exceed $16,140. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />Resolution 7990, Accepting Donation from Bethlehem Baptist Church and Authorizing Distribution of Funds. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson indicated Bethlehem Baptist Church has been providing the City with donations since 2004. The amount being donated for 2012 would be approximately $35,000. <br /> City Staff, the YMCA and the Park and Recreation Commission have discussed and made several recommendations on how to best utilize these funds. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson recommended the Council consider the following projects: skate resistant flooring at Hillview Park, recreation equipment, teen outreach music studio at the <br /> Community Center, DARE program supplies, $750 to the North Suburban Police Chaplain, Towns Edge Terrace Dental Clinic and $2,929 to the Economic Development Committee Fund. Staff recommended <br /> approval of the Resolution as presented.
