Mounds View City Council January 10, 2000 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Quick. To accept the January 3, 2000, City Council minutes as <br />corrected. <br />Ayes - S Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />5. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br />None. <br />6. REPORTS <br />Mayor Coughlin reported he had the opportunity that evening to attend a dinner with Senator and <br />Majority Leader, Roger Moe, and Senator Steve Novak, which was held in hopes of furthering <br />their mutual cause with regard to the airport legislation and litigation. He indicated this was an <br />enjoyable time. <br />Council Member Marty noted an additional correction to the City Council Meeting minutes of <br />January 3, 2000. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Coughlin. To Reconsider the Minutes of January 3, 2000. <br />Ayes - S :Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />• Council Member Marty requested a correction to Page 2, Reports, second paragraph, second <br />sentence to indicate "Mayor-elect_Kysylyzcyn of Roseville, who had requested he officiate at <br />this event, was sworn in by Governor Jesse Ventura, that date." <br />MOTION/SECOND; Marty/Coughlin.. To Accept the January 3, 2000, City Council minutes, as <br />corrected. <br />Ayes - S Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />City Administrator Whiting advised that City Hall would be closed on Monday, January 17, in <br />observance of the Martin Luther King holiday. <br />City Administrator Whiting reported that at the previous Work Session, the Council requested a <br />meeting be scheduled to provide instruction on the use of laptop computers. He indicated this <br />meeting would be held' on January 9, at 5:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers, and would be open <br />to the public. He noted there. was also some discussion pertaining to the scheduling of Staff <br />Retreat dates during the month of February. <br />City Administrator Whiting reported a joint meeting of the Economic Development Authority <br />and the Economic Development Commission would be held on Thursday, January 20, in the <br />Council Chambers, for discussion regarding Tax Increment Financing policies. <br />City Attorney Long reported he has been working with Senator Novak and Representative <br />Haake's offices with regard to the upcoming Legislative Session and the airport legislation. He <br />indicated a there .would be a meeting with a number of the environmental groups that are <br />concerned regarding the impact to the wetland that the runway expansion proposed by the <br />
