To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 5566, a <br />Resolution Appointing Mari Milewski Shay to the Police Civil Service Commission. <br />Council Member Marty noted he would nominate Mary Heggerich. <br />Council Member Stigney indicated that from his review of the applications he feels there are <br />other applicants more qualified for the position. <br />Mayor 5onterre stated he appreciated the qualities of each of the individuals that applied and <br />stated he does not disparage any individual but stands behind his recommendation to Council that <br />Mari Milewski Shay be appointed to the Police Civil Service Commission. <br />Council Member Stigney asked whether there had been any further discussions concerning <br />expanding the Police Civil Service Commission from three members to five members. <br />Mayor Sonterre explained that state statutes only allow three members. <br />City Attorney Riggs confirmed Mayor Sonterre's statement concerning state statutes. <br />Ayes - 3 Nays (Stigney/Marty) Motion carried. <br />Council recessed to the EDA meeting and then to the closed session discussion. <br />Council agreed by consensus to adjourn after the closed session without coming back into <br />Council Chambers. <br />CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS POTENTIAL LITIGATION <br />11. <br />12 <br />Next Council Work Session: <br />Next Council Meeting: <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />13. <br />Mayor Sonterre adjourned the meeting at <br />Transcribed and recorded by: <br />Joan Lenzmeier <br />Timesaver Off Site Secretarial, Inc. <br />Monday, June 4, 2001 <br />Tuesday, May 29, 2001 <br />p.m. <br />
