Mounds View City Council September 10, 2001
Regular Meeting Page 13
. Council Member Marty indicated that the City is paying for the sidewalks, trailway, and curb and
gutter.
Mayor Sonterre indicated that residents will only be paying for the asphalt.
Mayor Sonterre suggested scheduling another public information meeting as soon as possible.
City Administrator Miller indicated the City could send out notification of the public information
hearing with the survey.
Mayor Sonterre questioned how quickly it could get into the mail.
City Administrator Miller indicated the time was dependent on the engineering staff's schedules.
Mr. Peters indicated they would gather information at the public information meeting and bring it
to Council prior to having it heard at a formal Council meeting.
Mayor Sonterre suggested a mandatory response date that is three or four days after the public
information hearing.
Council Member Marty asked if there would be time to schedule a public information meeting
prior to two weeks from this meeting.
Mr. Peters indicated Council would want to give aten-day notice of the meeting m order to allow
for residents to rearrange their schedule and attend the meeting.
B. Discussion of School District's Use of the Banquet Center for the 2001 School
Board Election
Assistant to the Administrator Reed reported that the School District had requested permission to
use the banquet center to hold its school board election. She then asked for Council direction as
to whether the banquet center, equipment and staff should be used free of charge or at a
discounted rate.
Assistant to the Administrator Reed indicated that the public works department had requested
permission to use the banquet center for a dinner it is holding for retired employee Larry
Decheine. She also noted that the golf course club house manager had requested permission to
use one of the City's designated days for the golf course banquet.
Council Member Marty indicated it would make sense to use the facility for the requested events
rather than have it sit empty.
Assistant to the Administrator Reed indicated that the City has 10 days it can use for free events
. at the banquet center.
