Mounds View City Council September 10, 2001 <br />Regular Meeting Page 18 <br />• Council Member Marty indicated he would like to air the four and a half minute video tape he <br />had recorded at the June 4, 2001 City Council Meeting in order to allow Council to compare the <br />tape to the minutes presented for approval. <br />Mayor Sonterre asked City Attorney Riggs for a legal opinion on the matter. <br />City Attorney Riggs clarified that the minutes of the Council Meetings are not a transcript of the <br />meeting word for word but a description of what happens. <br />Council Member Thomas questioned what Council Member Marty meant by airing the tape. <br />Council Member Marty indicated he wanted to have the video tape played in Council Chambers. <br />Council Member Thomas stated she did not see the need to do so. She further noted that if any <br />Council Member needed to refresh their memory of the meeting they could request the tape and <br />view it. <br />Council Member Stigney questioned whether the videotape had ever been aired to the public. <br />Council Member Marty stated not to his knowledge. <br />i Council Member Stigney indicated he did not see a reason not to air the videotape. <br />Council Member Thomas indicated that the videotape contained only the June 4, 2001 meeting, <br />not the meeting that occurred on June 6, 2001. <br />Council Member Stigney indicated that the June 4, 2001 meeting was not televised <br />Council Member Thomas indicated that the meeting was continued to the next time and said that <br />no business was conducted. <br />Council Member Stigney asked what differences were of concern to Council Member Marty. <br />Council Member Marty read his transcription of the meeting for Council. <br />Council Member Thomas questioned what part of the transcription read by Council Member <br />Marty was not included in the minutes that were provided. <br />Council Member Marty indicated that the minutes presented did not state that he had indicated he <br />was not available on the date suggested for the continuing of the meeting. <br />Council Member Thomas indicated that is not necessary to include in the minutes discussion of <br />available meeting dates. <br />
