Mounds View City Council January 27, 2025 <br /> Regular Meeting Page 8 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 Mayor Lindstrom explained on Wednesday, January 22 he celebrated seven years of sobriety and <br /> 3 then his chipmunk died. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 B. Reports of Staff. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Finance Director Bauman explained she was looking into purchasing new copiers for City Hall <br /> 8 through a cooperative purchasing agreement. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 City Administrator Zikmund reviewed photos of the Mermaid, noting she was in the process of <br /> 11 being refurbished. He reported staff would be receiving a quote for the work in the coming weeks <br /> 12 and this information would be passed along to the City Council. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 City Administrator Zikmund explained the New Brighton Lions would be making a $1,500 <br /> 15 donation to the Tribute Park on behalf of Public Safety Commissioner Bob Jacobson. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 City Administrator Zikmund stated he submitted a grant for $41,000 and noted Eva Mackey <br /> 18 submitted a grant for$50,000, both for the Tribute Park. He encouraged the Council to make him <br /> 19 aware of any other grant opportunities for this park. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 City Administrator Zikmund explained he met with Tim Hill today, who was the third-generation <br /> 22 owner of CG Hill & Sons, noting Mr. Hill's grandfather invented the toaster. He stated Mr. Hill <br /> 23 was a former SBM Fire Board member. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 City Administrator Zikmund asked if the Council wanted to hold a Town Hall meeting in 2025. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Mayor Lindstrom supported the City holding a Town Hall meeting and he recommended this be <br /> 28 done in the fall. The Council agreed. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 City Administrator Zikmund reported he had communicated with Ramsey County Manager Becker <br /> 31 to see when a meeting could be held with the Mounds View City Council. Staff suggested this <br /> 32 meeting be held on Monday, March 17. The Council supported this recommendation. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 C. Reports of City Attorney. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 City Attorney Riggs provided the Council with an update on the Greenwood property easement <br /> 37 and discussed the letter he received regarding the recent ordinance the City Council approved that <br /> 38 now required trash haulers to post their rates with the City before receiving a permit from the City. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Mayor Lindstrom stated this ordinance was passed to ensure prices were transparent for Mounds <br /> 41 View residents. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 10.
