RESOLUTION 10051 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AUTHORIZE RECRUITMENT PROCESS FOR 2025 PUBLIC WORKS SEASONAL POSITIONS <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution 5546 requires seasonal positions be approved by the Mounds View <br /> City Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, seasonal employees benefit the City by providing labor services that are relatively <br /> less expensive and are available during periods of greater labor demand; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View Public Works Department has a need to hire seasonal <br /> employees; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is recommending seasonal positions be approved <br /> for the summer season of 2025; and <br /> WHEREAS, for 2025, Staff is recommending new hires start at the hourly rate of$18.03/hour <br /> and returning seasonal workers be compensated at $18.54/hour. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br /> Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The 2025 Seasonal Public Works positions are authorized to recruit a total of seven (7) <br /> positions. These positions would start beginning in late-April 2025 and work up to 119 <br /> consecutive days (17 weeks) each. <br /> 2. All newly hired Public Works seasonal positions will be paid an hourly rate of <br /> $18.03/hour. Returning seasonal workers will be compensated at an hourly rate of <br /> $18.54/hour. <br /> 3. Employees completing 14 — 17 weeks of the season will receive $250 (pro-rated based <br /> on weeks of work completed) on their last paycheck. <br /> 4. Each seasonal position may work up to forty (40) hours per week. The duration of the <br /> Public Works seasonal positions shall not exceed 119 calendar days (17 weeks) <br /> employment. <br /> Adopted this 101" day of February, 2025. <br /> Zach Lindstrom, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br /> (SEAL) <br />
