Item No. 8D <br /> Meeting Date: February 24, 2025 <br /> MOU-N-MS VIEW Type of Business: CB <br /> Administrator Review: <br /> City of Mounds View Staff Report <br /> To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From: Don Peterson, Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br /> Item Title/Subject: Resolution 10064, Requesting Municipal State Aid Funds Advance <br /> for the Ramsey County 2024/2025 Mounds View Boulevard <br /> Improvement Project County State Aid Project 062-610-006, <br /> Municipal State Aid Project 146-020-014 <br /> Introduction / Discussion: <br /> Ramsey County will be replacing the traffic signals on Mounds View Boulevard to include the <br /> following cross streets, County Road H, Woodale Drive, County Road H2, Edgewood Drive, County <br /> Road I, Silver Lake Road and Red Oak Drive. <br /> The City of Mounds View is required to cost share for the signal lights at Woodale Drive, County <br /> Road H2, Edgewood Drive, and Red Oak Drive. <br /> Ramsey County has estimated the City's cost portion of the project to be $1,051,323.01. <br /> Staff has learned that the City can request a onetime advance of State Aid Funds to help cover the <br /> project. <br /> Staff met with the representative for State Aid and presented the financial burden this project would <br /> have on future City street projects; create further delays or postponing future projects. <br /> Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements. <br /> Financial Impact: No Impact to the 2025 Budget, as repairs are budgeted in the Street <br /> Improvement Fund 485-4470-7050, for this project. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Staff is recommending the City Council approve the attached resolution requesting an advance on <br /> the full amount of the project costs of $1,051,323.01 from State Aid to be applied to the Ramsey <br /> County Traffic Signal Replacement Project. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Don Peterson, Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br /> The Mounds View Vision <br /> A Thriving Desirable Community <br />
