Financial Transaction Card Fraud <br /> Mounds View Patrol Officer took a report of a Financial Transaction Card Fraud. A tree <br /> expert company crew was working in the 8300 block of Knollwood Drive. Suspects <br /> entered the victim's vehicle and stolen his wallet out of his vehicle. Multiple <br /> transactions occurred on the victim's credit card. <br /> Inv Erickson contacted the victim in phone transactions that had occurred at Best Buy <br /> and Target in Coon Rapids. Inv Erickson received surveillance footage from Best Buy <br /> and Target, showing that two black males were involved in the transactions. <br /> Inv Erickson reviewed multi-Agency Tri County intel and found that the males were <br /> involved in numerous Financial Transaction Card Frauds throughout the metro where <br /> they steal wallets out of vehicles and use their credit cards to buy PlayStation 5's. The <br /> suspects were identified and a tracking device had been placed on the vehicle through <br /> a search warrant, confirming it was the vehicle and same suspects that stole Mounds <br /> View's victim's wallet and used his credit cards. The suspects were charged with <br /> Financial Transaction Card Fraud. <br /> Weapons Case Investigation <br /> On July 1 st 2024, investigator Erickson investigated a case where police were <br /> dispatched to the 2500 block of Mounds View Blvd on a report of a male in public with a <br /> rifle. Officers located the male inside a local business store. The male had a rifle slung <br /> around his shoulder and a handgun on his right hip in a holster. Further investigations <br /> showed that the defendant was issued an Order for Protection, rendering the defendant <br /> ineligible to possess firearms. The defendant was placed under arrest and the <br /> defendant was charged with possessing a firearm while subject to an Order for <br /> Protection. Investigator Erickson further discussed the case with the FBI to charge the <br /> Defendant Federally. <br /> Robbery <br /> On July 17th, 2024 at 2:07 pm, Officers were dispatched to a robbery on the 2500 block <br /> of Mounds View Blvd. A customer was strong arm robbed of her purse outside a local <br /> business. The male fled on foot. Upon investigation with the victim, she was able to <br /> give a description of the suspect and a direction that he ran. <br /> Officers and Investigator Erickson checked the area and located a male matching the <br /> description, however the male was wearing different clothes and was not in possession <br /> of the purse. He did have a large amount of cash in his possession. <br /> Officers and Investigator Erickson continued the investigation by interviewing witnesses <br /> and completing a line up with the victim. The victim confirmed that the detained male <br /> was the suspect that stole her purse. Further witnesses were able to describe the <br /> suspect's route of travel. With that information, investigator was able to determine <br /> further local businesses the suspect had ran by. Investigator reviewed surveillance <br /> footage showing the suspect in the area carrying the purse. Officers and Investigator <br /> Erickson checked the woods of that business and located the suspect's clothing and <br /> the victim's purse, which were recovered as evidence and swabbed for DNA. <br /> Further investigation showed numerous police calls and arrest history from the male <br /> suspect. The suspect was arrested and charged with robbery. <br />
