Fraud/Counterfeit Currency <br /> On 2-14-2024, Mounds View PD Officers took a report from a convenience store stating <br /> that a customer paid for a $12.92 for a carton of cigarettes with a counterfeit 100-dollar <br /> bill. Through the investigation, surveillance footage was obtained and the suspect on <br /> camera was identified. Investigator Erickson was able to locate the suspect and <br /> interview him. The case has been submitted to the Mounds View City Attorney for <br /> charges. <br /> Motor Vehicle Theft <br /> On 3-24-24, Mounds View PD Officer took a report for a stolen vehicle. The victim <br /> reported that her vehicle was stolen from the parking lot where she lives. It was later <br /> found in the investigation that the victim had left her credit card in the vehicle. Through <br /> the investigation, it was found that the credit card was used in Minneapolis at a <br /> McDonald's and a Deli. Investigator Erickson obtained surveillance footage of the <br /> transactions and was able to identify the suspect. Further investigations into the <br /> suspect led to the suspect's accomplice assisting with the transactions. <br /> Fraud/Financial Exploitation of a Vulnerable Adult Investigation <br /> On 10-23-2024, Mounds View Police received a report for alleged financial exploitation <br /> of a vulnerable adult. The vulnerable adult lives in a memory care facility and has been <br /> discovered that all funds in the victim's checking and savings account have been <br /> depleted to the point of not being able to pay for her living. Through the investigation, <br /> more than 71000 dollars have been drained out of the account. The suspect is the <br /> victim's daughter that holds conservatorship over the victim's finances. The case is still <br /> under investigation for Financial Exploitation of a vulnerable adult charges. <br /> Criminal Sexual Conduct Investigation <br /> A report was forwarded to Mounds View PD Investigations stating that the 8-year-old <br /> female victim had reported that her biological father had sexually assaulted her. The <br /> case was investigated and multiple parties were interviewed. When interviewed, the <br /> father denied all allegations. The 8-year-old female was brought in for a forensic <br /> interview and then disclosed that no incident had occurred. This case was not <br /> criminally charged. <br /> Domestic Assault/Criminal Damage to Property <br /> On 11-12-2024, Mounds View PD was called for a domestic assault that occurred on <br /> the 2500 block of Mounds View Blvd. The suspect showed up at the victim's work to <br /> assault her. Officers arrived and found the male after he was trying to flee from the <br /> incident location. An assault had originally occurred in Maplewood earlier that morning <br /> when he learned she was receiving texts on her phone from another male. The <br /> suspect assaulted her there and strangled her. The female left and later went to work <br /> in Mounds View when the suspect showed up to continue with further domestic <br /> altercations. The male was arrested and booked in jail, later having court and being <br /> issued a No Contact Order. Within the week of being released, the male began texting <br /> and calling the victim's work phone, with his name showing up on the caller ID. In the <br /> calls and texts, the male threatened the victim. <br /> The suspect also showed up and slashed the tires to her vehicle. The male has been <br /> further charged with Violating the No Contact Order and Criminal Damage to Property. <br />
