Edgewood Middle School and Pinewood Elementary School SRO Annual Report Officer Boscardin worked at Edgewood Middle School and Pinewood Elementary during the 2024 — 2025 School year. Prior to the start of this school year, Ofc. Boscardin met the New Principal of Pinewood Elementary Lena Christiansen. Ofc. Boscardin and school staff had a great partnership over the course of this year. Ofc. Boscardin looks forward to continuing to build relationships with the community and students within the Mounds View School District. Ofc. Boscardin started each day at Edgewood Middle School, conducting an interior patrol and checked-in with staff. Ofc. Boscardin then turned the school speed zone signs on/off each morning for student arrival at Pinewood. Ofc. Boscardin then conduct school bus stop arm and school speed zone enforcement. After student arrival, Ofc. Boscardin then conduct an interior patrol of Pinewood and checked-in with staff/students. Ofc. Boscardin returned to Edgewood, conducted an interior patrol and attend 6tn — 8t" grade lunches when available. Ofc. Boscardin being present at lunches allows him to connect/build relationships with students/staff, and aid in student supervision. Ofc. Boscardin would conduct an interior patrol between each grade level lunch. After lunches, Ofc. Boscardin met with students who requested a meeting throughout the day, work on reports, or complete investigations. At the end of Edgewood's school day, Ofc. Boscardin would provide crosswalk enforcement and conduct school bus stop arm enforcement. Ofc. Boscardin then return to MVPD to complete reports and check in with patrol/investigators. Ofc. Boscardin participated in the MVPD Heroes and Helpers outreach event with many other MVPD Officers. Ofc. Boscardin attended MVPD's Halloween outreach event. Ofc. Boscardin attended numerous after school functions at both Edgewood and Pinewood. Ofc. Boscardin attended all Band, Choir, and Orchestra concerts. Ofc. Boscardin attended all showings of Edgewood's fall Musical "Wizard of Oz". Ofc. Boscardin attended the Mounds View School District "Izzy" event, a workgroup working to create new phone policies in the schools. Ofc. Boscardin attended Family Library Nights at Pinewood. Ofc. Boscardin attended Pinewood's PTA Turkey Bingo and Holiday shopping events. Ofc. Boscardin attended a dance hosted at Edgewood. Ofc. Boscardin plans to attend more upcoming events hosted by the schools. Ofc. Boscardin has been working with Chief Zender and Deputy Chief Hellpap to host a follow-up community outreach event in partnership with Iball4life and several community groups. During the school year, Ofc. Boscardin assisted in delivering a death notification for a student's whose parent passed away. Ofc. Boscardin continued to set up transportation for the student and assisting with any of the family's needs. Ofc. Boscardin assisted with numerous student's elopements ensuring their safe return. Ofc. Boscardin responded to numerous calls for students in crisis and juvenile incidents. Ofc. Boscardin successfully completed numerous school bus stop arm violations traffic stops throughout this school year. Ofc. Boscardin de-escalated multiple altercations between students. Ofc. Boscardin assisted in several parent meetings.
