Mounds View City Council February 10, 2025 <br /> Regular Meeting Page 6 <br /> 1 Council Member Gunn reported she attended the recent Planning Commission meeting where the <br /> 2 group reviewed the proposed cannabis ordinance. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 Council Member Gunn noted the Tribute Park and Police Foundation would both be meeting on <br /> 5 Tuesday, February 11. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Council Member Clark stated the Festival in the Park Committee would be meeting next on <br /> 8 Tuesday, February 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Public Works. She noted the group would be discussing the <br /> 9 upcoming Easter Egg Hunt, which would be held on Saturday, April 19 at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall <br /> 1 o Park. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 Council Member Clark explained Project Ardan would be hosting a yard and garden expo on <br /> 13 Saturday, March 1 at the Community Center from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Mayor Lindstrom reported he attended the Daddy Daughter Dance. He thanked the Mounds View <br /> 16 Police Foundation for sponsoring this event. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Mayor Lindstrom stated the Rice Creek Watershed District would be meeting next on Wednesday, <br /> 19 February 12 at 9:00 a.m. at Mounds View City Hall. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Mayor Lindstrom indicated he was invited to visit the Anoka County Library on Tuesday,February <br /> 22 18 to discuss discharging racial covenants. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 B. Reports of Staff. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Finance Director Bauman reported auditors would be onsite every day next week. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Police Chief Zender provided a brief update on immigration noting he was having meetings with <br /> 29 local, state and federal partners. He explained the President's directive was to prioritize <br /> 30 enforcement noting violent criminals and those already in jail were being targeted. He encouraged <br /> 31 victims to continue to call 911 when in need of police assistance, regardless of their immigration <br /> 32 status. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 City Administrator Zikmund stated the City now had 175 racial covenants that had been discharged <br /> 35 to date, which meant the City was past 25%. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 City Administrator Zikmund commented on the high speed/fiber enhancement that was being <br /> 38 installed at the Community Center. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 City Administrator Zikmund discussed the vacant properties ordinance noting he hoped to have <br /> 41 this before the City Council at their next meeting. He indicated he would also be bringing a <br /> 42 document forward that clearly defined what a conflict of interest was for City Councilmembers. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 City Administrator Zikmund explained he would be attending the Tribute Park meeting on <br /> 45 Tuesday, February 11. <br /> 46 <br />
