Mounds View City Council July 22, 2002 <br />Regular Meeting Page 26 <br />Council Member Stigney commented that the meeting tomorrow is to review and approve the <br />budget. <br />City Administrator Miller indicated she would be giving feedback to indicate that the City wishes <br />to have a joint meeting among the cities and have the Fire Chief in attendance. <br />Council Member Stigney asked if Staff had received copies of the articles for the Fire <br />Department. <br />City Administrator Miller indicated she received a copy of the bylaws but not the articles. <br />Council Member Stigney asked her to follow up on receiving a copy of the articles. <br />Mayor Sonterre asked that the discussion be specific to the three-city meeting. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />Council Member Stigney said he would like to see a breakdown of the dues and subscriptions <br />amount. <br />Mayor Sonterre asked, comparatively, how is the Fire Department budget as compared to other <br />departments within the City. <br />City Administrator Miller indicated that, m reviewing the various departmental budgets, the Fire <br />Department was the only department that did not make any cuts. <br />H. Golf Course Quarterly Report. <br />Golf Course Manager Longville addressed Council and provided a review of his report. <br />Golf Course Manager Longville explained that they had lost time out at the course due to poor <br />spring weather and the strike. <br />Golf Course Manager Longville indicated that things are getting better and the numbers for the <br />month of June are approaching more normal for rounds played. He also commented that the <br />sluggish economy could be playing a part in the lower numbers as well as the influx of <br />competition. <br />Golf Course Manager Longville indicated that they have received a lot of compliments at the <br />course and have cut staff in half compared to past years. He then said that he feels like they are <br />on the right track and the course seems busy. <br />Golf Course Manager Longville commented that once he has an operating season under his belt <br />and takes the winter to review and reflect he will be coming to Council with some proposed <br />changes to improve things for next year. He then commented that it maybe time to raise green <br />
