Mounds View City Council December 9, 2002 <br />Regular Meeting Page 17 <br />U <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Thomas. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 5895, a <br />Resolution Appointing a Golf Course Manager. <br />Council Member Marty indicated he was against this but would be voting in the affirmative to be <br />able to reconsider it at a later date. <br />Council Member Stigney asked that the Resolution be read. <br />Assistant City Administrator Reed indicated that Mary Burg is the recommended candidate and <br />then provided information on her background. <br />Assistant City Administrator Reed asked Council for authorization to amend the Resolution to <br />include the banked vacation time of three weeks with annual accruals beginning at three weeks as <br />was approved for Mr. Sommer. <br />Council Member Thomas indicated she would accept the amendment and asked that the <br />Resolution be read. <br />Assistant City Administrator Reed read Resolution 5895. <br />• Council Member Thomas asked if this candidate would have the same sick time as the police <br />chief. <br />Assistant City Administrator Reed indicated that banked sick time was not something discussed <br />with this candidate. <br />Council Member Quick accepted the amendment. <br />Council Member Stigney said he opposes the motion and noted he also opposed the starting date <br />as she would begin while the course is closed. <br />Assistant City Administrator Reed indicated that Mr. Longville is working up to 10 hours weekly <br />and the new person needs time to become familiar with the course while she has access to City <br />Administrator Miller and Mr. Longville. <br />Council Member Stigney said, "its absurd." <br />Council Member Marty asked who was on the interview panel when Mr. Longville was <br />interviewed. <br />Assistant City Administrator Reed indicated that she, the City Administrator, Mary Burg, and the <br />golf operations manager from New Brighton were on the interview panel for Mr. Longville. <br />• Council Member Marty asked who interviewed Ms. Burg. <br />
