Mounds View City Council February 24, 2003 Regular Meeting Page 9 Mayor Linke asked that notice be provided that Council would call to order at the next work session to authorize someone to begin the hiring process and set the Council's requirements for hiring the administrator. Council Member Stigney indicated he would like the information from New Brighton with the packet. Mayor Linke asked for information regarding the hiring of the last administrator. Council Member Marry asked that First Site Staffing and Labor Relations be invited to the work session. C. Resolution 5927 Authorizing the Purchase of Audio Equipment for the Banquet Center Interim City Administrator Ericson reviewed the audio equipment situation with Council and indicated that, even though the contract had not been approved by Council prior to the installation, the equipment is installed and does work. He then recommended making payment to the vendor to end the matter. . Council Member Stigney indicated he still did not have a clear picture of what was provided and what the expectations for the system were. He then asked whether it is possible to operate the three separate units and one single unit. Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated that Mr. Bradley has indicated that one can be used or three separate and that has been tested out. Council Member Stigney indicated he feels that the 500 feet of coax cable was a waste of money and it seems to indicate a future request for antennae. He then said that the original write up from Staff is fraught with errors and, in the future, he wants factual information to be presented to him. He further commented that he has an issue with the fact that Council directed others to do bids knowing full well the system is already installed. Interim Ciry Administrator Ericson indicated that it was not know that the equipment was installed at the time. He then indicated that the installation was done while Mr. Bradley was on vacation and it was not realized at the time of the Council meeting. Mayor Linke indicated he has some of the same questions but it is moot at this point because the equipment is installed and needs to be paid for. He then said that Staff is aware that the bal laws dropped and will work to ensure that this type of situation does not happen again. Council Member Stigney indicated the City is paying way too much for this equipment such as $350.00 over the list price for this equipment and that is ridiculous. He then said that he feels that Mr. Bradley should be responsible for some of this as he is running the banquet center and this was done without authorization.
