MEETING IS CALLED TO ORDER <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />3. ROLL CALL: Linke, Quick, Marty, Stigney, and Gunn <br />4. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />A. Monday, Apri114, 2003 City Council Agenda. <br />Mayor Linke indicated Mr. Connelly was attending another City Council meeting and would <br />`~! arrive somewhere between 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 to address Item 9A under Council Business. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Stigney. To Approve the Monday, April 14, 2003 Agenda as <br />Presented. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT <br />David Jahnke of 8428 Eastwood Road indicated he has some Council tapes to catch up on but is <br />very concerned about the budget and the first seven items on this agenda are money items. He <br />then expressed concern of Ms. Haake's comment that she wished she had spent the surplus <br />budget amounts when Council was discussing taking that money away. <br />Mayor Linke clarified that the surplus in the cable fund comes from the franchise fee and is not a <br />budgetary item. <br />Mr. Jahnke commented that the police department has not hired for the two vacant officer <br />positions in an attempt to make cuts but no other departments have done any cutting. He then <br />commented that Staff may be at its minimum level to operate but he would like it reviewed. <br />Mayor Linke indicated that Mr. Ericson is currently serving as three employees. He then said <br />that the City lost four positions last year and Council will be reviewing those positions to <br />
