<br />Mounds View City Council August 11, 2003 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br />1 Council Member M asked whether the Mounds View Lions are oin to be contributin to <br />~' g g g <br />2 kids golf and he also asked if Staff had heard back from .the Chamber about funds for kids <br />3 golfing. <br />4 <br />5 Golf Course Manager Burg indicated the City received a grant for $1,500.00 for a summer <br />6 program and the YMCA is organizing it and this grant would be for an after school program. <br />7 <br />8 Council Member Quick asked whether a request for funds has to go before a board or committee <br />9 at the Lions. <br />l0 <br />11 Mayor Linke indicated that a committee reviews requests and brings them to the membership for <br />12 approval. <br />13 <br />14 Mayor Linke asked whether this type of request needs to be brought to Council for approval. <br />15 <br />16 Council discussed it and agreed that this type of request should come to Council. <br />17 <br />18 MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn. To Approve Resolution 6070, a Resolution Approving the <br />19 Request to the Mounds View Lions Charitable Gambling Committee. <br />20 <br />1 Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />2 <br />23 Council Member Gunn asked what they are doing on Bono Road. <br />24 <br />25 Finance Director Hansen indicated there was a break in the sewer line between the house and the <br />26 City's main in the street and it happened to be close to the main in the street so to repair it <br />27 required a plumber to dig up and make the plumbing repairs and the homeowner then has to pay <br />28 to replace the street. He then said that this would allow the street repair to be assessed and paid <br />29 over the years rather than the homeowner having to pay two very large repair bills at the same <br />30 time. <br />31 <br />32 MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Marty. To Approve Consent Agenda Item D as Presented. <br />33 <br />34 Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />35 <br />36 9. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />37 <br />38 None. <br />39 <br />40 10.
