Reports of Mayor and Council. <br />9 <br />1 o Council Member Marty asked Staff to look into whether the appropriate amount of charitable <br />11 gambling funds were returned to the City from the organization mentioned at the last meeting. <br />12 <br />13 Council Member Marry asked Staff to keep on top of the stoplight at Silver Lake Road and <br />14 County Road H. <br />15 <br />16 MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Marty. To Direct Staff to Investigate the Possibility of Installing a <br />17 Semaphore at Silver Lake Road and County Road H and to Direct Staff to ask the County for a <br />18 Signal Justification Report. <br />19 <br />20 Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />21 <br />22 Council Member Marty asked for an update on a possible pathway along Silver Lake Road up to <br />• 23 County Road H. <br />24 <br />25 Public Works Director Lee indicated that a late summer project gives time for adding a sidewalk <br />26 and the ideal situation would be to do the pathway and overlay after all the truck hauling is done. <br />27 He then said that at the next meeting Staff would be presenting the feasibility study for that <br />28 project. <br />29 <br />3o Council Member Gunn commented that with all of her travels with drum line she sees towns <br />31 with signs that state vehicle noise laws enforced. She then asked if the City could look into those <br />32 types of signs at the edge of the City. <br />33 <br />34 Public Works Director Lee indicated that it is the policy of the City that the Police Chief <br />35 determines where those signs are located. He then said that he would work with the Police Chief <br />36 on the matter. <br />37 <br />38 Mayor Linke expressed congratulations and a thank you for a job well done to Officer Meyer and <br />39 Officer Leich for receiving an award for life saving efforts on an employee at the Mermaid. <br />40 <br />41 Mayor Linke indicated that the City has received notification of a level III sex offender moving <br />42 to the community and there will be a community notification meeting on March 15, 2004 at 6:30 <br />43 p.m. at the Community Center. <br />• 44 <br />
