Mounds View City Council December 13, 2004 <br />Regular Meeting Page 7 <br />1 Council Member Stigney requested that the Park and Recreation Commission approve or deny <br />2 the climbing wall item <br />3 <br />4 Public Works Director Lee stated that the Park and Recreation Commission would be meeting on <br />5 Thursday, and that they could look at that item at that time. <br />6 <br />7 Cindy Palm from the Greenfield Park Committee thanked the Council for its work on this <br />8 project, and she also thanked Bethlehem Baptist Church for their generous donation of $12,500. <br />9 She also thanked the Twin City North Chamber of Commerce, Sunrise Christian Daycare, <br />1o Western Bank, Minnesota Institute of Public Health, the American Legion Post 513, and <br />11 Suburban Radiological for their donations. She thanked Officer Gross, who helped organize the <br />12 donation buckets at National Night Out Block Parties. Consider Bids for Carpet at the Mounds View Community Center. <br />City Clerk Ulrich stated that bids had been opened at 4:00 today, and only one bid had been <br />received, which was from Abbey Carpet for $64,500 for carpet the and $74,500 for a broadloom <br />carpet. He stated they hadn't had time to compare the bid to specs, and they would like to talk to <br />the bidder about design options, so he was recommending that this be rescheduled for the <br />January 10th meeting. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Linke/Stigney. To postpone this item to the January 10th City Council <br />meeting. <br />Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />Council Member Stigney asked if this was advertised for bid. <br />City Clerk Ulrich stated it had been advertised in the Bulletin, and it had been directly solicited <br />to half a dozen carpet suppliers. <br />Council Member Stigney stated he felt uncomfortable with only one bid, and City Clerk Ulrich <br />stated perhaps they needed to look at the specs and re-bid it. <br />G. Resolution 6405 Approval of the Timesaver Recording Secretary Contract <br />Addendum for 2005. <br />Council Member Stigney stated that they do a real good job, and he would like to see them <br />continue. <br />44 MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Gunn. To waive the reading and approve Resolution 6405, <br />.45 Approving the Timesaver Recording Secretary Contract Addendum for 2005. <br />
