Mounds View City Council May 9, 2005
Regular Meeting Page 24
• Council Member Gunn stated that on May 21, 2005 the Ramsey County Patrol Station plans to
hold an open house in Arden Hills at 1411 Paul Crepeau Drive. She stated that the Open House
is scheduled to being at 3:00 p.m. noting that refreshments would be provided.
B. Staff
City Administrator Ulrich announced that last Thursday, May 5, 2005, the Ways and Means
Committee approved the verbiage provision fora $1 million payment for the 40-acres. He stated
that this allows a window to the market before it goes back to the public.
City Administrator Ulrich stated that the Street Project Survey Results were included in the
meeting packet for Council review.
Council Member Stigney asked if they have information to help determine if the neighborhoods
are being contacted fox the project feedback. He asked what it would take to get a neighborhood
included in the project.
City Administrator Ulrich stated that he could provide the information and reviewed the survey
process with Council.
Mayor Marty explained that the survey was given to City Council the night of the Streets project
work session and this would not take into account anything from that session. He reviewed the
results with Council.
Council Member Thomas clarified that this survey is merely a piece of the information and is to
be used as guidance. She noted that the residents are not in a place where they are willing to
accept anything that is given to them. She stated that they should begin from scratch.
Director Ericson stated that he has an outstanding issue that he needs direction on from Council.
He referenced the renaming of County Road 10 noting that the City of Blaine and the City of
Spring Lake Park City Councils have voted on the issue. He stated that at their last discussion
Council wanted this issue brought up at the Town Hall meeting noting that they received very
good results. He stated that the name chosen the most by Residents was for Mounds View
Boulevard, which came out on top with nine votes. He acknowledged that there is still some
confusion out there and asked Council what they would like Staff to do next.
Council Member Thomas stated that renaming it after a specific City could cause issues and
encouraged Staff to continue pursuing consensus between the three Cities.
Director Ericson stated that he would have follow-up conversations with the Cities of Blaine and
Spring Lake Park and provide the Council with an update.
C.
