Mounds View City Council October 24, 2005 Regular Meeting Page 24 • Director Ericson stated the issues raised at the last meeting of drainage and silt fence at 7769 Pleasant View Drive have been addressed and all corrections have been made. A member of Public Works inspected the property and found a dual silt fence has been correctly installed so that issue is resolved. Director Ericson reported that the blighted property at 2617 Sherwood Road was posted "do not occupy" by the City and an appraisal was authorized. An offer to acquire the property was sent to the owners through the attorney's office and the offer to purchase was based on the appraisal price and contingent upon the EDA's authorization. If the property owners are willing to consider the offer, it will be back for the EDA to consider for authorization. • Director Ericson reported that Staff received three bids to demolish the property at 7861 Groveland Road, an EDA owned house. That issue will be considered at the November 14, 2005 EDA meeting. Mayor Marty stated this summer the Fire Department had a controlled burn at a house by Fire Station # 1. He suggested the property on Groveland Road and the Random building may be considered by the Fire Department for a controlled burn. Director Ericson stated staff will explore that option, which also can be economical and provide training for Fire Department personnel C. Reports of City Attorney 1.
