Mounds View City Council January 23, 2006 <br />Regular Meeting Page 21 <br />• Councilmember Stigney asked if the Council needed to see that language. City Administrator <br />Ulrich commented that this should have been provided in the position description. Director <br />Ericson apologized and said the position description should have been in the packet as well. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Thomas/Gunn. To waive the reading and adopt Resolution 6723 <br />Authorization to Hire Full-Time Temporary Building Inspector. <br />Councilmember Stigney suggested that a condition be added for the Council to see the signed <br />agreement. <br />Mayor Marty asked when the agreement would be available. Director Ericson stated that the <br />agreement can be presented to the union for approval and then the employee would sign ofF. He <br />deferred the question on timing to City Administrator Ulrich. <br />Mayor Marty mentioned the Resolution states employment shall begin on or after tomorrow. <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated that a condition of employment is pending union and Council <br />approval of the negotiation and receipt of a letter by the City that this is a temporary position. He <br />suggested the action be pending on union and employee approval and receipt of a letter of <br />understanding that this is a temporary position. <br />. Councilmember Thomas, maker of the motion on the floor, and Councilmember Gunn, who <br />seconded that motion, agreed to this friendly amendment. <br />Ayes - 4 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />H. Review Proposed Schedule for Joint Meeting with Various Mounds View <br />Boards and Commission Members <br />City Administrator Ulrich reviewed that at the December work session, the Council directed that <br />joint meetings with each of the City's commissions be established during the first part of 2006. <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated City staff looked at combining some of the Commission <br />meetings with the regular Council work session meeting dates. <br />Staff proposes the following schedule: <br />• Charter Commission -Tuesday, February 21, 2006 (City Administrator Ulrich noted that <br />New Brighton City Hall is unavailable for this date; March 8, 2006 is the next day <br />available.) <br />• Park and Rec. Commission -March 6, 2006 (Mounds View Community Center Task <br />Force will report back this night) <br />. • Planning Commission -April 3, 2006 <br />
