Reports of Mayor and Council <br />Councilmember Stigney commented that he received a telephone call from a resident who was <br />unhappy that the Streets meeting was scheduled for April 13, 2006, because it is a holy day and <br />many people will be at church and will not be able to attend. <br />Councilmember Stigney stated that the resident also wondered if the existing street surveys <br />would be taken into consideration or if the study will be started from scratch. <br />Mayor Marty stated he received a question if a motorcycle club could be in the City's Festival in <br />the Park parade. Councilmember Gunn stated that would be fine and reminded the residents that <br />the Festival in the Park is scheduled for August 20, 2006. <br />Mayor Marty added that the Festival in the Park is looking for volunteers, and anyone interested <br />should call Councilmember Gunn. <br />B. Reports of Staff <br />1. Assistant to the Administrator Crane <br />Assistant to the Administrator Crane announced the 2°d Annual Town Hall Meeting will be held <br />at the Mounds View Community Center on 5394 Edgewood Drive on Saturday, April 29, 2006. <br />She stated the event will start at 9:00 a.m. <br />2. City Administrator Ulrich <br />City Administrator Ulrich reported on the status of the supplemental appropriation before the <br />Minnesota Legislature for the additional $400,000 in funding for the proposed noise wall <br />extension on the south side of Trunk Highway 10. He explained that a hearing is tentatively <br />scheduled for April 11, 2006, at 3:00 p.m., and there will be Staff present to represent the City. <br />He invited the City Council to attend the hearing. <br />3. Community Development Director Ericson <br />Director Ericson noted there is a vacancy for a resident position on the Economic Development <br />Commission, and that the vacancy will be posted to seek applicants. <br />Director Ericson explained that draft plans have been prepared for the Red Oak Estates #3 <br />townhome project. He stated that floor plans and front elevations for the proposed buildings <br />have been submitted. He mentioned the appearance and characteristics of the design work could <br />change as it goes through the bidding process. <br />
