Set a Public Hearing for Monday, July 24, 2006 at 7:25 p.m. to Consider a <br />Major Subdivision of 8360 Long Lake Road <br />MOTION/SECOND: THOMAS/FLAHERTY. To Approve the Consent Agenda as amended. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />B. Resolution 6869, Authorization to Enter into a Grant Agreement with the <br />Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety Safe and <br />Sober project <br />Councilmember Gunn stated she would like to thank the Police Department for the Safe and <br />Sober Campaign. <br />Mayor Marty explained how the grant worked. <br />MOTION/SECOND: THOMAS/FLAHERTY. To waive the reading and adopt Resolution <br />6869, Authorization to Enter into a Grant Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public <br />Safety, Office of Traffic Safety Safe and Sober project. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />E. Resolution 6873 Awarding a Construction Contract for the Silver Lake Road <br />Sidewalk Improvement Project <br />Mayor Marty pointed out that the low bid was to and that the engineers' <br />estimates were $588,000. <br />Consulting Engineer Rhein stated that five came in lower, two came in higher. He stated there <br />was a very good price for concrete and the contractor specialized in concrete sidewalks. He <br />stated that they checked references for the company and received excellent references. <br />Mayor Marty stated that the project is scheduled to begin on July 24 and will be completed in <br />October. <br />MOTION/SECOND: MARTY/THOMAS. To waive the reading and adopt Resolution 6873 <br />Awarding a Construction Contract for the Silver Lake Road Sidewalk Improvement Project. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />
