He
mentioned there are many children on Red Oak Drive and there are lots of vehicles cutting
through. He noted the speeds are very high and there are many more large trucks and buses. He
stated if there is an accident on Highway 65 or on 35W, the traffic is even worse. He asked if
there is anything the City can do to curb the cut through traffic.
Mr. Nelson noted that there was a study done 10 years ago and the Mayor at that time had said
there was no problem. He stated that the traffic is horrendous and out of control. He asked the
City to do something to slow traffic down and deter cut-through.
Mayor Marty stated he spoke with Public Works Director Lee and noted a traffic count was done
several years ago and the City should have it in their records. He suggested Public Works
compare the traffic counts from then and those that were done more recently. Director Lee stated
Public Works is aware of the problems and there are traffic counts for every odd year back
