Mounds View City Council June 26, 2006 <br />Regular Meeting Page 34 <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council <br />Mayor Marty stated he received a letter he wanted to read but will read it at a later time. He <br />stated it is a letter of commendation to a Public Works staff for the good job they do. IIe said he <br />would like to thank the Warrens for writing the letter. <br />B. Reports of Staff <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated there will be an appreciation lunch on June 28"' at the <br />Community Center and compensation plans are due to be presented to the City on July 5"' and <br />will be included in the July 101h meeting. <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated a report about walkable communities will be distributed and <br />some of the ideas will be incorporate into the planning. <br />Random Park Building Replacement Project Update <br />Public Works Director Lee stated that there is an option to use a residential -style sprinkler system <br />that will still comply with the code. There are some complications, that 1.5" water supply will <br />still be needed. He said a full report will be submitted on July 10"'. <br />Mayor Marty asked if 3/4" or 1" was already going into the building and Public Works Director <br />Lee replied that 3/4" is currently being use. Director Lee continued that Staff was investigating <br />whether 1" would be able to do the job. He stated they are talking to a contractor who specializes <br />in residential sprinkler systems to determine if such a system would work. <br />Community Development Director Ericson discussed a memo he provided to Council regarding <br />ongoing code enforcement activity in the City. Mayor Marty asked about an "AO Issue," and <br />Community Development Director Ericson stated it stood for an Administrative Offense. <br />Finance Director Beer stated that as part of year-end management report, the state auditor <br />requested information regarding the use of Administrative Offenses. He added that he is looking <br />for direction about how to respond. <br />City Attorney Riggs stated that it is best for Staff to bring back a memorandum. He said at that <br />point in time the Council can direct Staff how to respond. <br />C. Reports of City Attorney <br />There was none. <br />12.
