Reports of Mayor and Council <br />Mayor Marty noted that he and Mr. Ericson met with Representative McCollum and others <br />regarding the intersection of I- 35W and County Road H at Arden Hill City Hall.. <br />Mayor Marty indicated he would like to have Mr. Ericson and Ms. Crane meet to discuss salary <br />and incentives with Event Coordinator Matt Baumann, to ensure that the City does not lose him, <br />as he has done a great j ob with the community center. <br />Mayor Marty said that he was approached by citizens for contracting out for police services, and <br />when the council met with Spring Lake Park, their Council asked about any interest in merging <br />police forces. Since then, he has discussed this with Staff and there is the potential to save <br />$1,000,000 per year by contracting for police services with Ramsey County Sheriff's Department <br />for police services. <br />Mayor Marty noted that Festival in the Park is this weekend. <br />Council Member Flaherty reported on National Night Out, noting that there were 30 parties in the <br />City. <br />Council Member Mueller reported on Festival in the Park events. <br />B. Reports of Staff <br />1. Mounds View Festival in the Park -August 16th and 17th, 2008 (verbal <br />announcement) <br />Clerk Administrator Ericson noted that Northwest Youth and Family Service's Taste of <br />Northwest is coming up, and he will provide more information on that to the council. <br />Clerk Administrator Ericson noted that Staff is working with Mn/DOT on the soundwall but it is <br />still about 20 years out on Mn/DOT's priority list. <br />Clerk Administrator Ericson said that Jeremiah Anderson would be recognized as a Captain on <br />the Fire Department at the next council meeting. <br />C.
