Reports of Mayor and Council Mayor Marty noted that he and Mr. Ericson met with Representative McCollum and others regarding the intersection of I- 35W and County Road H at Arden Hill City Hall.. Mayor Marty indicated he would like to have Mr. Ericson and Ms. Crane meet to discuss salary and incentives with Event Coordinator Matt Baumann, to ensure that the City does not lose him, as he has done a great j ob with the community center. Mayor Marty said that he was approached by citizens for contracting out for police services, and when the council met with Spring Lake Park, their Council asked about any interest in merging police forces. Since then, he has discussed this with Staff and there is the potential to save $1,000,000 per year by contracting for police services with Ramsey County Sheriff's Department for police services. Mayor Marty noted that Festival in the Park is this weekend. Council Member Flaherty reported on National Night Out, noting that there were 30 parties in the City. Council Member Mueller reported on Festival in the Park events. B. Reports of Staff 1. Mounds View Festival in the Park -August 16th and 17th, 2008 (verbal announcement) Clerk Administrator Ericson noted that Northwest Youth and Family Service's Taste of Northwest is coming up, and he will provide more information on that to the council. Clerk Administrator Ericson noted that Staff is working with Mn/DOT on the soundwall but it is still about 20 years out on Mn/DOT's priority list. Clerk Administrator Ericson said that Jeremiah Anderson would be recognized as a Captain on the Fire Department at the next council meeting. C. Reports of City Attorney None. 12.
