RESOLUTION 7517 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING "SEE FOR YOURSELF" AS THE NEW TAGLINE <br /> FOR THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> WHEREAS , the City's original tagline was "Gateway to the North"; and " Pride , <br /> Progress and Partnerships" has been the City's tagline since 1991 ; and <br /> WHEREAS , in fall 2008 , the City asked Mounds View residents and businesses if <br /> "Pride , Progress and Partnerships" appropriately describes the City; and , <br /> WHEREAS , responses to the resident survey were mixed and the majority of <br /> business respondents (80 . 6%) indicated that " Pride , Progress and Partnerships" does <br /> describe the city; and , <br /> WHEREAS , on April 13 , 2009 , the Mounds View Economic Development Authority <br /> ( EDA) adopted the Mounds View Brand Strategy; and <br /> WHEREAS , an objective of the Brand Strategy was to develop a new tagline that <br /> more accurately reflects the values and true identity of Mounds View; and <br /> WHEREAS , in May 2009 , the EDA reviewed thirty-five tagline ideas created by <br /> Risdall Marketing Group and City staff; and <br /> WHEREAS, from July to September 2009 , the City requested additional tagline <br /> ideas from the public; and <br /> WHEREAS , eighty-two tagline ideas were submitted by community members; and <br /> WHEREAS , on October 12 , 2009 , the EDA reviewed all 117 tagline ideas and <br /> selected " See for Yourself' as the new tagline for Mounds View. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does <br /> hereby adopt " See for Yourself' as the new tagline for the City of Mounds View. <br /> Adopted this 26th day of October, 2009 . <br /> Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br /> ATTEST : <br /> James Ericson , Clerk-Administrator <br /> (SEAL) <br />
